This is sooooooo cool.
If you have not heard about bike sharing, listen up, I may blow your mind.
Let me tell you how it works. You know those little carts at the airport, that you put money in and it spits out a cart that you load up your luggage, then when you are done with it, you just stick it into the nearest station, and you are happy. Right?
This works exactly the same way. They have stations all over the city. You pick a bike up and drop it off again when you get to your destination. You pay by the hour.
I have been hearing about bike sharing programs in various cities around Europe, and there are small programs in many cities here in the US. In fact they have a very small scale version on the Provo River Trail.
Anyway, it looks like Denver is starting a huge program and it sounds really awesome. You can watch the video here:

According to The bike-sharing Blog
and their map, there are similar programs around the world, but most good ones are in Europe.
Combine these with car sharing and we may all be able to give up our cars.
Did I blow your mind?
I know I am a geek, but
I LOVE IT.

I love this! Why didn't they have this program when we were at Ricks? Such a great idea!
